Asterisk

SmartRecord IP uses Asterisk dial plans and configuration files to direct calls to the SmartRecord IP recording server by improving the existing Asterisk call recording capabilities. This is accomplished by introducing an improved threading model for writing to call files within the MixMonitor program. This enhancement has vastly improved the scalability and quality of service for the recording feature.

The configuration file manages call flow for both inbound and outbound Asterisk SIP channels, and allows the SmartRecord IP administrator to add new SmartRecord IP users and define SIP providers.

The Asterisk dial plan controls the call flows for handling and routing inbound and outbound calls.
